Entertaining on New Years

By Anissa Rochester · December 28, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

It's the end of the holiday season and the last day of the year. I'm ready to end this year. Time to welcome in the New Year while sharing a few laughs, good food with friends. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars to go out, you can save money by having a small party at home. While entertaining friends you can glam up cooking & serving people in haute hostess aprons. Whether on New Year's eve on New Year's day, Haute hostess aprons is destined to be the main course.

Pucker up with Style

The hottest new trend hitting the fashion/beauty scene is temporary lip tattos. A great form of self expression.
I search the web and found www.ViolentLips.com with various styles such as neon pink, leopard, cheetah, american flag, polka dots, and glitter. Channel your inner Lady Gaga or Nicki Minajness for fun!

Tutorial on how to put them on: It's not as easy as it looks: Holding separate top-lip and bottom-lip pieces (see below) over your lips, you trace your lips' natural shape (I needed someone to help me trace) and then cut out the shapes (you basically need the precision of an X-acto knife to match your lip shape perfectly). The rest of the process is similar to how you put on a temporary skin tattoo: Remove a clear plastic covering, press the tats onto your lips, blot with water-saturated tissues, and peel to reveal the pattern on your lips. Once we finally got them in place, we loved how cool they looked Well, don't laugh—as soon as you smile, the thin material cracks and crinkles up. And while you're at it, don't talk, press your lips together, or drink anything. Because of the lip tats' short life span, they're best for a party or New Year's Eve.

Elisa Sednaou new face for Roberto Cavalli fragrance

By Anissa Rochester · October 25, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

One of my favorite designers launching a new fragrance with Elisa Sednaou as the new face for the product. Elisa Sednaoui was born in Italy. She is the niece of the famous photographer Stephane Sednaoui and the goddaughter of the French footwear designer Christian Louboutin. Lucky girl, Christian Louboutin as a relative, image the shoes she wears. She is a rising Italian actress and model who appeared on the cover of several upscale magazines. Upcoming actress and model star is now the muse of the new Roberto Cavalli fragrance for woman.

She is the woman every woman would like to be, self confident, enthusiastic, sexy with an amazing personality, so she is the real Cavalli woman” said Roberto Cavalli,

The fragrance is due on counters Spring 2012

Y-3 Spring/Summer 2012 collection

By Anissa Rochester · September 12, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

Y-3 London's call for its Spring/Summer 2012 collection, in honor of the host city's upcoming 2012 Summer Olympic games. Shown in New York's Soho district on Sunday, September 11, 2011, as part of New York fashion week, Y-3 took a tour of British style and Olympic sport, all in the essence of Yohji Yamamoto, the label's designer. Offering sport as a theme, Y-3 presented unique takes on Olympic style, filtered through the street aesthetic of Londontown. This meant clever renditions of classic English checks, graphic Mod-era prints, rough-and-tumble workwear, and the Union Jack. Models walked the runway to a sound track of Tokio Hotel and Miyavi, while a front-row crowd including Dwight Howard, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Pitt, and Peaches Geldof looked on.

Mara Hoffman at New York Fashion Week

By Anissa Rochester · September 11, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

Designer Mara Hoffman, known for her colorful, bohemian fashions, debuted her Spring/Summer 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection on Friday, September 9th at 2:30 PM in The Box at Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week.

The personal style of Mexican women such as famed artist Frida Kahlo served as inspiration for Spring; “Mexican Mamas,” as Hoffman describes it. The collection features many new silhouettes and fabrics. Amazing new colorful prints (all custom designed in-house), including “Veracruz” (abstract tribal with pops of neon colors) “Woodcut” (white with woodcut design, offered in brown and blue), “Huipil” (geometric dots with bright orange and purple color-ways), “Ticker Stripe Embroidery”, “Weave” (black and white woven print) and “Techno Animal” (Bright colorful tiny animals), and a group of “Serape” striped knits. There is also a group that features colorful neon embroidery over solid black or white silk crepe fabrics. In addition to original prints, the collection includes solid colors ranging from White, Red, Blue, Orange and Black.

The Spring collection features many great new shapes and styles, including several fantastic jumpsuits (with both long pants and short romper styles), easy tunics, tea-length column dresses and a new take on a ruffled peasant dress. Details such as seed beading, embroidery and weaving are prevalent throughout the collection. Many of the styles feature a sexy sheerness, such as a long sheer skirt which includes an underlay so that no slip is required, as well as sheer chiffon pants with shorts underneath. Sheer printed tops and tunics are worn with solid colored specially made bralets (a nod to her popular swimwear collection). Tops include sleeveless button-down shirts, drapy blouses and variations of her signature poncho tops and tunics; bottoms include high-waisted slouch pants, solid silk shorts and more. As always, there are many amazing dress styles, from long dashikis and ruffle gowns to short, sexy strapless styles.

The Spring 2012 Presentation featured accessories by amazing new jewelry line Holst and Lee (http://www.holstandlee.com/) and custom made shoes featuring the Spring prints. The beauty team consisted of hair by Nick Irwn for TIGI (amazing styling, with hair wrapped with strips of fabric from the collection) and make-up by Lottie for Make Up Forever.

Dolce Gabbana and Martini celebrates FNO

By Anissa Rochester · September 11, 2011 · 0 Comments ·

Dolce & Gabbana celebrated Fashion's Night Out with an exclusive preview of Passion Duo Lipstick, sponsored by MARTINI.

It was a star-studded event with an event committee including Ingrid Vandebosch and Jeff Gordon, Thierry Henry and Tyson Beckford, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle, Erica and L.A. Reid, and Lauren Santo Domingo and Tatiana Santo Domingo. Additional celebrity guests included Justin Bieber, Anna Wintour, Rose McGowan, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn Decker, Usher Raymond, La La Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony, Sophia Bush, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, Nik Pace, Karen Elston, Bee Shaffer, Tabitha Simmons, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Marina Rus, Ellie Goulding, Ice-T and Dayssi Kanovas.

It was ultimately Bieber, however, that stole the show.

With all of the A-list celebrities that attended, the hundreds of over-excited fans couldn't avoid Bieber Fever. Tweens were brought to tears as they waited in line to have their one hundred and ninety-five-dollar Dolce&Gabbana FNO t-shirts signed by the “One Less Lonely Girl” singer. VIPs and celebrities, 21 and older, wishing to escape the mob-scene of screaming girls gathered at the MARTINI-sponsored cocktail bar on the second floor and enjoyed Asti and Sparkling Rosé.

Make-up artists were also on hand to touch-up the fashionable party-goers at a lipstick and grooming bar. Afterwards, fresh-faced guests had the opportunity to have their portrait shot by celebrity photographer Roxanne Lowit. In addition, DJ Ruckus and Hannah Bronfman provided beats throughout the evening and Asher Roth gave a special performance before the event wrapped around 11:00pm.

All proceeds from the evening will benefit "Pencils for Promise", an organization committed to supporting a world with greater educational opportunity for all.
